Emily DiDonato

Emily DiDonatoEmily DiDonato, born February 24th, 1991 in Goshen, New York is an American fashion model.

DiDonato is of Italian, Irish, and Native American ancestry. Her great-grandparents emigrated to the U.S. from Italy.

Emily was scouted at the Danbury Mall when she was 10 years old by Tina Kiniry from the John Casablancas Modeling & Acting Agency of Connecticut.

Tina introduced Emily to Request Model Management in 2008 and she booked jobs as the face of Guess? for spring of 2009 and as a model in Ralph Lauren's "Rugby" in spring 2009 advertisement campaign.

In May 2009, she was signed as the face of Maybelline New York, having just graduated from high school with only a few months of modeling experience behind her.

She made her television commercial debut for the company's "Color Sensational Lip Color" line, alongside Christy Turlington, Jessica White, and Julia Stegner.

DiDonato began modeling for Victoria's Secret in August of 2009, and appeared on her first magazine cover with The Block's October 2009 issue.

Emily DiDonatoPrior to the 2009 New York Fashion Week, Vogue Germany dubbed her the "top newcomer". In 2010, she became the face of Giorgio Armani's fragrance Acqua Di Gioia.

Images of her from this campaign were used as the cover pages of L'Oréal's Annual and Financial Reports for 2010.

In 2020 she walked for Brandt

For Summer 2013, Emily DiDonato stars in an advertising campaign for Oysho. She also made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue debut in 2013, when she traveled to Namibia for the photoshoot.

She has appeared in advertising campaigns for Miu Miu, Oscar de la Renta, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Trussardi, Ralph Lauren, Just Cavalli, Missoni, Elie Tahari, Longchamp, Nicole Farhi, Aldo, Gap, Juicy Couture, and Guess.

Emily has walked the runway for Chanel, Balmain, Givenchy, rag+bone, Louis Vuitton, Loewe, and Giles Deacon. DiDonato also has stated that "I'd like to maybe get into acting one day."

Emily DiDonato married financier Kyle Peterson on June 23rd, 2018 and in June of 2021, DiDonato announced that she was pregnant with a baby girl.

Emily DiDonato"We first met on a cross-country flight from New York City to Colorado. I was flying from New York to Vail to shoot the cover of Australian Vogue, and Kyle was going for a work trip,” said Emily.

“We were next to each other on that flight, we started chatting, and have been together pretty much ever since!”

The two had been seeing each other for three years when Kyle proposed in Ithaca, New York, while they were there for his alma mater weekend at Cornell University.

“We were visiting wineries and enjoying the fall weather when we stopped to walk on the suspension bridge overlooking the gorges - the same bridge that his grandfather proposed to his grandmother on decades ago.” according to Emily.

The model is expecting her first baby, a daughter, with husband Kyle Peterson in early December, she told PEOPLE Magazine.

DiDonato says she found out about her pregnancy "pretty early" after she took a test when she was "just not feeling quite like myself."

"I felt a little tired. I was a little bloated," she says. "I actually just had a test in my drawer and I was like, 'I'm just going to take this. I have a weird feeling that this is potentially going to be positive.' "

Emily DiDonatoWhen her test came back positive, the soon-to-be mom says "it was totally like in the movies."

"I ran to CVS and bought 20 different kinds of pregnancy tests and I took all of them. I was like, 'Okay, I really, really am pregnant,' " she recalls.

DiDonato says she was so excited to share the news with her husband that she "blurted it out when he walked through the door."

DiDonato admitted that her husband has had a hard time keeping the secret as well.

"I would hear him on conference calls with his entire office telling people very early on and I was like, 'Kyle, you're supposed to wait and decide on that decision together,' "

"But I think he's just so excited and excited to share that news with people at his job."

While the model admits she and Peterson weren't "actively trying" to get her pregnant at the time, DiDonato says she's always wanted to have kids.

DiDonato had launched the skincare brand Covey with best friend Christina Garcia just two weeks before finding out she was pregnant.

Emily DiDonato"Timing-wise it wasn't perfect, but there's never a perfect or right time," she said. As she prepares to welcome her baby girl, DiDonato says she's been reflecting on her relationship with her own mother, whom she calls her "best friend."

"I love her to this day and consult her on everything. I think about having that bond and creating that friendship with my own daughter and fostering that relationship is going to be really exciting," she stated.

The model, who has always been open about her struggles with acceptance of her body image throughout her modeling career, said that her pregnancy has been "really positive" for her.

"I feel a whole new neutrality towards my body and food in a way," she explained. "In terms of my body, I think this is the first time in my life that I've had to be like my body is about to change and a lot of it is not under my control and that's okay."

"And also reminding myself that stressing about it and getting upset about it isn't going to change what's about to happen in the next nine months."

"My body is going on a journey - it knows what it needs. I know what I need. And I just need to make sure I'm being the healthiest version of myself as much as I can when I can."

Emily DiDonatoAnd with a daughter on the way, DiDonato says she doesn't want to be "putting that kind of negative energy into my body and her little body growing in there."

In a 2015 interview when Emily chatted with Maxim magazine about her career and modeling image she told them her attitude about what she includes in her diet.

She does not shy away from revealing the fact that she loves steaks instead of keeping her meals strictly to lowfat foods and vegetables - "What can I say? I love steak. It's kind of my thing." she told Maxim.
