Nestled on Barbados south coast, past the Crane Beach and Sam Lord's Castle is Bottom Bay, a wide expansive beach with smooth rolling waves riding onto the shore.

The beach is semi enclosed by high coral cliffs, providing a panoramic view of the south shore. The scene is completed by the presence of tall palm trees that add to the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of the bay.

Always a popular picnic spot, it is also becoming a popular place to live and a number of homes are being built on the tops of the cliffs overlooking the beach and ocean. People who live there report spotting turtles and whales in the waters below the rocks.

Bathing here is not recommended, as the waves are very strong, and great care should be shown by those who choose to do so.

One of the best beaches in Barbados, Bottom Bay is a wide stretch of white sand that is lined with coconut palms and even has its own cave. To access the beach, visitors can park on top of a cliff and walk down steps to the azure waters. Medium to large waves dominate the surf.

Although Barbados offers some more secluded beaches that Bottom Bay the mix of natural beauty, personality and atmosphere offered by this beach could be just what the doctor ordered.

Although vacation planning is filled with choices, in Caribbean travel choosing a beach can be quite important consider some of Barbados' interesting beaches, like Bottom Bay.

Some may feel that beaches throughout Barbados tend to be somewhat quiet, but you'll find something a little different at Bottom Bay. That's not to say this spot is particularly urbanized it isn't families and groups of friends that decide to check out this beach may choose to escape the city's bustle without missing an opportunity to meet new people.

Travelers in search of beauty and scenery can find them on the beaches of Barbados, which helps make them popular vacation spots. And, while many travelers visit these beautiful spots, you may find that some have less of a draw than others. The nature of each beach is different, and you'll find that Bottom Bay may have the perfect personality for you.

Vacationers will find this beach on the eastern coast of Barbados; it is located near the Sam Lord's Castle Resort, 2.3 miles away. Bottom Bay is close to Marley Valley, so you can explore the town after your visit to the beach.
