Shachi Biswas

Shachi BiswasShachi Biswas, born January 23rd, 1995 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India is the founder and artistic director of Nirguna Dance School. Shachi is on a mission to promote Indian art forms through contemporary style. A Practitioner of silence. Explorer of movement, stillness, & the Unknown.

As a dancer, Shachi feels that there are infinite possibilities within our bodies. We can move in innumerable ways, using so many different dimensions.

She believes that if two dance styles are mixed without disturbing the core principles, a new style can be achieved. It may employ any dance technique, or arbitrary combination of techniques associated with any type of dance.

Trained in BHARATANATYAM under guru Kalashree Amrit Sinha (senior disciple of Padmabhushan awardee - guru Dr Saroja Vaidyanathan & Kalaimamani Rama Vaidyanathan, New Delhi), and CONTEMPORARY under Punit Mittal (ex-instructor Terence Lewis Academy, Mumbai).

At the London Dance Festival she performed Rockstar a dance she choreographed based on 3 dance styles – Bharatanatyam, Kathak (both Indian classical) & contemporary, depicting how a human soul endeavours to become one with the supreme soul and finally unites with Him.

Shachi BiswasShachi is an empath who loves to speak through dance. She’s based in India, and her goals are to reach out to people who are unaware of the existence of dance and to tell stories through dance that can influence people to realise their hidden potentials. Shachi came up with the idea of NIRGUNA (which literally means - the one without any attributes, one of the many names of Lord Shiva) FOUNDATION/COMAPANY in 2015, right after an important performance which shook her till the core of her soul.

She realised that Indian art forms, (majorly Bharatanatyam), need to be decoded & made equally accessible to all, & not just limited till the province from which they originated.

She aspires to present Indian art forms especially Bharatanatyam in such a way that brings transition to the dance form which in turn will keep it alive for generations to come irrespective of their origin.

As a traveler she loves to visit different parts of the world, which, she believes, helps a lot in creating movements inspired by those places. Also, its her goal to make dance accessible through her foundation, to people around the world (especially from the remote & tribal areas) who are unaware of its existence & power.

She believes that 'Movement is Medicine'. Dance has a power to speak without words and heal without medicines by which us artists can spread awareness and influence people around the globe about the present scenario of Mother Earth.

Shachi BiswasEach cell of your body has the power to generate enough energy to give you what you want. The question is - How badly you want what you want?

The images you see or create in your mind, are powerful enough to manifest themselves.

When you know you are alive. And by saying the word I don't mean to simply exist. I mean - to live. PS - I blush when I'm with the Beloved.

Don't pursue happiness. Pursue a lifestyle where the byproduct of that lifestyle is happiness.

And you? When will you begin that long journey into yourself - Rumi

Stillness. It's nothing less than a movement. If you ever try to be still for a moment & let yourself be present in that stillness, you'll be able to feel blood passing through the veins & arteries, the beating of the heart & anything/everything we know about the inner movements.

And if you attain That state, you might even get to feel the movement of the cells which is something I strive for.

Shachi BiswasEinstein's E =mc2. Everything in this universe, even the universe itself, is a result of vibration. Vibration gives birth to energy. Energy gives birth to physical matter.

Therefore, we are the creators of our own destinies. The frequency of our vibration decides what we are bound to receive.

What you think, is what you get.

So, in order to truly manifest our dreams and to maintain the beauty of this planet, let us accept (people around us as they are), think positive, love unconditionally, speak beautiful, and live gratefully.

Listen to your instincts. They are the messengers of the universe. Pay attention to your body. It is a great source of miracles. 'You were born with wings, why prefer to crawl through life?” ― Rumi'

I am He whom I love, and He whom I love is I. We are two spirits dwelling in one body.

Expressing through dance is making the face rather than words the major organ of communication.
