Adrianne Palicki

Adrianne PalickiAdrianne Palicki, born May 6, 1983 in Toledo, Ohio is an American actress best known for her roles in Legion in 2010, Red Dawn in 2012 and in the TV series Friday Night Lights from 2006 to 2011. In 2013, she played Lady Jaye in G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Palicki was born the daughter of Nancy and Jeffrey Palicki and has an older brother, Eric, a comic book writer, who influenced her interest in comics. She graduated from Whitmer High School in Toledo in 2001 where she ran on the track team in high school and was named runner-up for homecoming queen. Her career might not have happened if she hadn't followed her intuition and told her parents that she'd rather go to New York and pursue theater than attend college.

"It didn't go over very well. It was really hard for them to hear, but I did it," she said.

Palicki said she'd always known she wanted to be an actress, whether it was when she was goofing around and dressing up with a friend or taking part in The Wiz and other productions put on at her high school. It wasn't too long after this that Palicki had signed with an L.A.-based agent. She returned to Toledo and worked a little before heading to the West Coast. She took acting classes and suffered through rejection after rejection while working a variety of the usual dismal jobs, from waitressing to managing a sunglasses store. But, then within about two years, things started to click.

Adrianne PalickiShe landed a role on a television remake of Lost in Space directed by John Woo, and even though it was never picked up, she went on to appearances on North Shore, South Beach, CSI, Smallville, and Supernatural. There have been other projects as well - like the indie comedy Women in Trouble where she plays a porn star/stripper/idiot and Legion, which tells the story of angels sent to bring on the Apocalypse while humanity's last hope is trapped in a desert diner with the Archangel Michael, played by Paul Bettany. The latter film had a cast which included Dennis Quaid and it immediately appealed to Palicki's love of action and supernatural movies.

"I love science fiction. It's very Constantine meets Terminator," she said. "I love those kinds of movies."

She also appeared as Kara/Lindsey Harrison in the Season 3 finale of Smallville. She was a series regular on the first three seasons of NBC's drama series Friday Night Lights, portraying Tyra Collette. In early 2011, she returned for the final two episodes of the series. The Texas high-school football drama Friday Night Lights, was a critically acclaimed but ratings-challenged show about dedicated Dillon High School Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) and his team, the Panthers (and later, the East Dillon Lions). The show premiered on NBC in 2006 but teetered on the edge of cancellation from its earliest days. Things looked particularly dire at the end of season three, until a last minute deal split production costs between NBC and satellite-TV provider DirecTV, ensuring the show's survival for at least two more seasons.

Adrianne PalickiPalicki also starred in Supernatural as Jessica Moore, Sam Winchester's doomed girlfriend who is killed by a demon in its pilot episode. The character reappears in the Supernatural Season 2 episode, What Is and What Should Never Be, and the Season 5 episode Free To Be You and Me. Palicki also appeared as Judy Robinson in John Woo's unsold pilot, The Robinsons: Lost in Space. Palicki starred in Legion opposite Lucas Black. She made an appearance in the will.i.am music video We Are The Ones in support of 2008 presidential hopeful Barack Obama. In 2007, Maxim Magazine ranked her No. 79 on its Hot 100 list of which she said:

"I think it's flattering, but I also think it's about bringing something else to the table," she said. "Anybody can be a pretty girl. Anybody can wear a short skirt and show some leg. It's about making that character you are portraying interesting and likeable."

She was cast as Toni Mason in Red Dawn, the 2012 remake of the 1980s film Red Dawn. Although initially signed on to star in the Jamie Babbit horror film Breaking the Girl, due to delays in filming and production, and then scheduling conflicts, Palicki does not appear in the film. In 2010, Palicki joined the FOX television drama Lone Star, which was cancelled after two episodes, despite recieving good reviews. In Lone Star, Palicki played Cat Thatcher, a Houston socialite who was unaware that her handsome husband, Bob - played by James Wolk, is actually a con man with another life and another love in another Texas town.

Adrianne PalickiIn 2011, Palicki portrayed Wonder Woman in a 2011 pilot produced by David E. Kelley for NBC. The pilot was not picked up by NBC as a series. She joined the G.I. Joe cast in the lead role of Lady Jaye in the sequel directed by Jon M. Chu. Palicki joins returning cast members Channing Tatum (Duke), Ray Park (Snake Eyes), and Byung-hun Lee (Storm Shadow) and new cast members RZA (Blind Master), D.J. Cotrona (Flint), Dwayne Johnson (Roadblock), and Elodie Yung (Jinx) for the sequel produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura for Paramount.

Palicki co-starred in this film - G.I. Joe: Retaliation in 2013, in the lead female role of Lady Jaye. The film is a 2013 American science fiction action film directed by Jon M. Chu, based on the Hasbro toy company G.I. Joe toy, comic and media franchises. It is a sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

The film was written by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and features an ensemble cast, starring Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson, with Channing Tatum, Arnold Vosloo, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, and Byung-hun Lee reprising their roles from the first film. The film was released in North America on March 28, 2013. Lady Jaye is a fictional character from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline, comic books and cartoon series. She was originally created as a character for the Sunbow G.I. Joe cartoon series back in 1984, and later produced as an action figure, and finally introduced into the comic book in 1985. The Lady Jaye that Palicki plays is the G.I. Joe Team's covert operations specialist.

Adrianne PalickiPalicki appeared in The WB Network pilot Aquaman as the evil Nadia. The pilot was not picked up for series by the CW network, a result of the merger of the WB and UPN networks, which occurred while the pilot was being filmed.
